His Holiness, the late Grandmaster Professor Thomas Lin Yun founded the Fourth Stage of Black Sect Tantric Buddhism, and introduced BSTB to the West in the early 1970’s. He transformed ancient Buddhism and Chinese philosophies to be adapted to the modern life and to address modern issues and challenges.  His comprehensive teachings including Feng Shui, Theory of Ch’i and its adjustment methods, Transcendental Cures, Spiritual Cultivation and Meditation, etc. have healed and transformed numerous people all over the world. 

 

The legacy of Black Sect Tantric Buddhism was ensured when His Holiness, the late Grandmaster Professor Lin Yun appointed Her Holiness Khadro Crystal Chu Rinpoche as his successor.  As the spiritual leader of the Fifth Stage of Black Sect Tantric Buddhism, Her Holiness Khadro Crystal’s mission is to carry on the lineage with the transmission of BSTB’s teachings, development, and services.

The Yun Lin Temple in Berkeley, California, USA and the Lin Yun Foundation in Taipei, Taiwan are dedicated to fulfill the mission of transmitting BSTB teachings and to cohere the BSTB community.

 

Black Sect Tantric Buddhist teachings incorporate ancient Eastern wisdom with mundane requirements of the modern world to create practical applications and solutions to daily challenges and concerns.  The teachings represent a comprehensive integration of Buddhist teachings, Yin-Yang philosophy, I-Ching, Feng Shui, theory of Ch’i, holistic healing, Chinese folklore, transcendental cures, meditation, spiritual cultivation and development, Chinese poetry, etc.

 

The ultimate goal of BSTB practice is for the student to achieve deeper self-fulfillment and growth, with increased energy and well-being, while manifesting meaningful and compassionate actions.

 

In the Black Sect Tantric Buddhist tradition, the only legitimate path for instruction is the sacred discipline of oral transmission from teacher to pupil. Her Holiness Khadro Crystal Chu Rinpoche is the exclusive teacher and transmitter of the teachings of Black Sect Tantric Buddhism, as appointed by His Holiness the late Grandmaster Professor Lin Yun.
